How To Measure My Damaged Meter Box?
Measure your existing, damaged Meter Box by taking the 3 external measurements as indicated below.
Note whether it is gas or electric - (Gas need louvred doors for ventilation)
When measuring a damaged meter box, it is very important that you measure carefully, without adding any extra to the height, width and depth.
Please note the depth is only what is protruding from the wall.
Once you have those measurements have a look through our Meter Box Repair Units and find a unit that will fit over your existing damaged frame. Your new repair unit should be slightly bigger than your existing, damaged meter box.
Floor-Mounted or Ground Gas Meter Boxes
For Semi-concealed or semi-submerged gas meter box, please measure the external frame without the lid, like in the images below:
If you are struggling to find the right Meter Box unit, see this guide. Leave us a message on our online chat, we'll be happy to help.

The lock on my electric meter box is broken. I have sent the measurements of the box to your online chat but there are no matching electric meter box covers. The meter was put in 1985 and it is called a Derwent. I think I will measure it again. I wonder if I could simply get a replacement lock for it, and not a whole doorr.
