The PVC Cabinet is an electrically insulated freestanding feeder pillar, with no conductive pathways from the inside to the outside of the enclosure.

Suitable for sites where two different earthing systems are within touching distance or where additional safety is required, such as in EV charging installations.

Also available prewired according to customer requirements, ranging from MCCBs and ACBs, SPDs and RCDs, as well as industrial metering options i.e. the Ritherdon CT Chamber and other switchgear.

PVC is a fully recyclable material with well established recycling routes making it a more sustainable choice, unlike GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), a composite material that cannot be recycled and contributes to landfill.

Delivery Information:

We will send these on a designated AM Delivery between 9:00am & 12:30pm as standard, unless otherwise requested.

Please check the measurements of this enclosure to ensure these sizes are suitable for the project in hand as returns charges will apply.

These enclosures will require a forklift to offload from the carrier at the delivery point.

  • Electrical Insulation – PVC provides excellent electrical insulation, reducing the risk of electrical hazards.
  • Dielectric Constant – PVC 4.0εr.
  • Dielectric Strength – PVC Min: 10 kV/mm Max: 30 kV/mm.
  • Made out of recycled PVC.
  • Well established recycling routes for all components of the cabinet.
  • IP54 Rating – The enclosure is protected from limited dust ingress, and water spray from any direction.
  • Corrosion Resistance – PVC is resistant to a wide range of chemicals such as acids, alkalis, salts, fuel oils and lubricants.
  • Low Maintenance – PVC does not require sealing, painting or regular maintenance.
  • Safety – PVC is class I fire resistant and self extinguishing. The highest fire rating in BS 476-1.
  • Cable Entry – All models are open in the base for cable entry. The base must be sealed against water/damp ingress.
  • Plywood Backboard – 18mm backboard. Sideboard option available fitted or to retrofit.
  • Foundation – Optional matching plinth, sold separately.
  • Lifting Lugs – Optional detachable lifting lugs, providing a lifting capacity of over 500 kg (net load). Allowing heavy electrical equipment to be installed prior delivery.

Assembly and Prewiring:

Option to fully assemble and prewire to customer requirements. This includes moulded case and air circuit breakers (MCCBs and ACBs) as well as surge and residual current protection (SPD and RCD), and more switchgear options as needed.
