What does a CT chamber include?

A Ritherdon CT Chamber is made up of the following elements:   GRP Enclosure with two locks  Metal Backboard WAGO Terminal Block - Pre-wired DIN Rail 3 phases and neutral Individual Plastic Covers for 3 phases and neutral Clamps with Shear off Bolts (8 for each phase and neutral)   Does not include CTs - However we are able to supply two types of CTs 200 Amp 400 Amp CTs supplied by Ritherdon include individual testing certificates.

The CT Chamber does not include CTs.  We supply 200 Amp and 400 Amp Moulded Case CTs that easily clip onto the DIN Rail in the Ritherdon CT Chamber. Supplied with individual test certificates for each CT. What are the dimensions of a Ritherdon CT Chamber?

Ritherdon manufacture and supply the Ritherdon CT Chamber. A CT Chamber is the enclosure where CTs or Current Transformers are housed, these are used for CT metering of an electrical connection. The Ritherdon CT Chamber made to UKPN specification is housed in a lockable, sturdy GRP enclosure.   Dimensions of the GRP Enclosure: Height 745mm x Width 535mm x Depth 300mm The CT Chamber is a wall mounted unit and the recommended installation clearance is as the diagram below:  Installation clearance:  Minimum working space of a 1000mm all around and a maximum height of 1055mm from the floor is recommended....

When do I need a CT Chamber?

When the supply to a site needs to be greater than 100 A (~70 kVA at 415 V) then the electricity meter works with current transformers (CTs) houses within their own enclosure – the CT chamber.  The power cables come onto the site, via a cut-out unit, into the CT Chamber and the Meter Operator typically mounts their meter on the CT chamber.
